What holds the rear axle shaft in the pig of the rear axle on a 1999 olds bravada. How difficult is it to get the rear axle out.

Well, you would need to take the cover off of the differential. Then there is a bigger pin in the center of the gears, you would have to move the axle to get it more into a vertical position, slight angle. There is a bolt on the side holding the pin in. Once you pull that bolt out the center pin will slide out. What ever you do, do not rotate the axle or driveshaft at this point. Then just push in on the axle slightly to expose a "C" clip on the end of the axle. It just slides out also. Then you can pull the axle out. All this is pretty simple but the main point is to NOT move the axle or drive shaft once the center pin is out.
