aurora has low oil pressure

Can be several things... Easiest two are to check your oil level and replace the oil filter. If that doesn't correct the issue, have it towed to a shop to be looked at. If your lucky it'll be the sender or the oil pump. (Odd... same car, same problem, and on the same board today? Anyone know if these had a common fault that I'm unaware of?)
check your drane plug and oil pan gasget. ok

Okay captain random. he said oil pressure was low, not that he had oil in his driveway and on his pan. Oil pressure and oil level are too separate things, and if the level is low then there are many other places it could be leaking from.
most likely on auroras (even happend on mine) its just the sensor. it located right next to the oil filter just unscrew it and screw another in it not hard at all and its like $10 at autozone
use heavier oil !! That's what I did and problem solved. 15/40 for me !!
On my 2003 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0 V8, I had "Low Oil Pressure" on LED display and oil light on at idle when car was warmed up. I just replaced the sensor (about $35 / ebay - part number: 12562817) and after replacement oil pressure at warm idle is 15 to 18 PSI on display and oil light does not come on. Success!
Josh. did you finish the adding of 10qts of oil, in your Aurora, in top of the 7.5 or 8? How did it go..? cannot find your thread about it
if it has high millege try thik oil like 10/30 it fix the problem!
has anyone out there had luck doing this...cause this remedy is scary.(10 extra quarts..wow) I have upper eng noise and preasuer is reading 15 psi down to 7. Trying to get the car back on the road after 6 months sitting and never had this issue before i parked it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Tom @ campkidron@hotmail.com
I had the same problem on my 99 aurora and now use 15/40 oil and it has more than ample oil pressure now. As far as I am concerned anything lighter will never go in any of my engines again. 15/40 still has the zink in it to protect the camshafts on engines before roller lifters (pre 96 I believe) . I guess not everyone knows about this yet. !!
