Yah. Any Gen 1 W-body with the 3.4 Twin Cam and a manual is rare. The Getrag 284 was only used in the w with the 3.4 from 1991 to 1993.

They were found in the 1991 through 1993 Cutlass supremes (mostly 2dr internationals or some vert's but thereis some 4 drs (Olds had the lowest prod numbers)), look for the 3400 emblem on the side. 1991 through 1993 Chevy Lumina z34's 2drs and some 3.4 euro 4drs (highest production numbers because it was chevy's motor). And in the middle was the 1991 to 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix found in the 2dr GTP and some of the STE 4 drs.

Personally I like the Gen 1 w's. I've got 5 of them, 2 with the 284. A '92 z34 and a '92 GTP, the one in the GTP is damaged so I was going to rip it apart to see if I could fix it?? The car only cost $300 and the motor was alright, saved it from the wreckers. They are getting really hard to find with the manual. The 284 is stronger than the 282 therefore the racers want it for it's strenght BUT they were produced in low numbers, there are little to no parts for them and last I heard there were only a small number of custom shops that worked on them. The factory in Detroit? (I think) unsed to re-build them in house but that was awhile ago. If you are going to keep it great. If not you can market it to w people, they will pay a premium for that tranny. Fiero guys like to swap in the 3.4 w/ 284. W-body is the forum I'm on and there is alot of data. They also have a classified section for parts or your car? I have pics of my w's in my garage

Depends on the market in your area. If you have time to wait the low ballers (tranny swap people, etc) out and find someone who knows what the car is It can be worth some money. The CS is a little fancier than the Lumina z34 and the last z34 in Calgary w/ the 284 was listed for 3600 w/ 90000 kms. There were a few people listing auto w-body's for 3000 to 4000 here, I don't know what they went for but those prices are a stretch with the track record of the 4T60e. I would say list it high and go from there. Try to find details on the car, like the exact production number of the '91 CS International with the manual, then the amount shipped to Canada. Someone was claiming that there were only 29 manual z34s shipped to Canada in '91 so if that is correct you have to assume there were less Cutlass's.
