Can a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Transmission fit in a 2006 Pontiac grand prix?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My transmission went out on my 2006 pontiac grand prix and my
husband's a mechanic, he just hasn't looked it over to see exactly what it's
the problem with the transmission is, and he doesn't know a lot about
pontiacs. All the same I'm preparing for the worst. I know it's a risk to get a
used transmission but I can't afford the rebuild or a brand new one. I
haven't found any 2006 transmission's but I did find a 2005 pontiac grand
prix transmission that's been tested and in good condition, Will it fit and
work in my 2006?

It will fit as long as it came from a 2005 with the same size engine.
2004-2008 used the 4T65E transmission and the 3800 series III engine so those years are compatible however there is a supercharged option for the GTP and a transmission for the GXP (8 cylinder) whereas the base and the GT differences are purely cosmetic
I have a question can a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix replace a 2010 Pontiac Grand Prix windshield
No they stopped making the Grand Prix in 2008
