As with all things in modern cars, nothing is a simple as it used to be. There are special procedures for relieving pressure and properly bleeding the proportioning valve etc. etc. etc. Do so me online research or get hold of a shop manual from the library to try to figure it out. Sometimes special equipment is required which may necessitate taking it to a shop for some professional help.
