Car won't start at times but lights are on. Pontiac Grand Prix 04

Asked by jose Feb 18, 2019 at 04:44 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This has happened 3 times recently. I've turned my
car on normally and go to the store and when I
come back out my car won't start but all the lights
turn on just fine. I turn the key and no sounds
happens just lights turn on and alarms show up on
dashboard in the middle saying low fuel, traction
control and all that but nothing turns out. I try over
and over but still the same even open hood and
check battery and even had a car jump mine at one
point but nothing but lights and try again later and
it turns on just fine so I'm not sure. One time when
it did that I kept turning it off and on to see if it
would fail again but it turned on each time but the
car shook a bit as it seemed to struggle a bit to
turn on. Started it today with no problem but
scared I have to go to store or put gas and that my
car won't turn on again and maybe for good. What
could it be? I'm low on cash so any help would be
appreciated

Could be a bunch of things. Scan it for trouble codes. Also may be a wiring problem at the base of the steering column. Tough to find for an amateur but a shop that specializes in auto electrical should be able to help. I agree. Need to get it fixed or you'll have a towing bill on top of the repair bill.
