Temp guage
Hi there fellow drivers, wonder what would cause
temp guage to go higher than it should. Mainly
when idling. Doesn't go as far as to overheat but
its getting close to that side. Once driving it Will
start to go back down. Help please

see if the fans come on when it gets hot , make sure the coolant is topped off , is the exhaust white or is there goop under the oil fill cap ? Replace thermostat with OEM part , find an AC delco supplier
Yes the fans come on when hot, and the exhaust is white nothing out of the ordinary going on with that haven't checked under the oil fill cap. I'll check that out thanks and also will check into that thermostat. Thank you so much
Without airflow through the radiator, your temp will rise but it should be offset by your cooling fans at idle or low speed. If they are coming on as they are supposed to and your coolant level is where it should be, I would not worry about it unless it starts getting into the red zone on your gauge.
Thank you for your answer, I was getting worried if something serious could be going on
