Is the air dam on the bottom of the front of the car intact? Its directly under the radiator.

these cars are known to have head gasket issues, or intake gasket. creates air bubbles around thermostat and makes it not want to open. define which gaskets you have replaced.

How hot? Overheating could be the head gasket but just hot could be many other things.

to andrew we replaced the intake gaskets and nmanafold gaskets and while the engine was broke down we looked at the head gaskets too but they were fine...no oil in the water either...

The V6 Grand Am engine has a bleed valve in the coolant system. Open it until coolant comes out.

Does it come back down to a normal temp after sitting still for a few minutes, or does it runt hot sitting still as well?
