2002 grand pix blinkers whipers hazards and gas gage.

Asked by jami Mar 14, 2018 at 05:58 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My blinkers and whipers will work intermittently but not all
the time hazard lights won't  work and the gas gage after
the car warms up will drop from saying it has a full tank to
no gas. We have checked and changed bulbs and fuse at a
loss as to what it could be..

Make sure your battery connections are clean and tight and check that the grounds are clean and tight as well. Have the battery load tested. Sometimes that will cause weirdness if its not in top condition.

I addition to what munroe stated, check the connectors. When you look inside them, they may have some black crud on them. Scrape that off with a pocket knife / craft knife / screw driver, or spray well with contact cleaner, and then reassemble. I have seen turn signals that stopped working on one side because water got into a connected and corroded the contacts over time. Also with regards to the grounds, these GP's have a ground connection for most everything, and there are a lot of them. Start working your way back from the connector on the affected device, towards the fuse block. While not all black wires are ground, I have found there are a lot of them. If you know how to use an ohm meter, it would be your best bet.
