Why can't you hear the headlight on chime when you get out of the car. You can barely hear it coming out of the speakers.

Sounds like loose wiring to the speakers to signal the lights are on. It may be harder to fix as opposed to just living with it. It would entail take the door panels off to check the wiring to the speaker to see if the connection is good. There is no manual way to increase or decrease that alarm so I don't know what else it could be.

If the car has the factory stereo..look in the manual...there is a setting that controls the volume of the door chime..factory Delco stereos in sunfire cavaliers etc had that setting..had to adjust mine b4 as well..but can't remember exactly how..but it is in the owners manual..and if it is a factory stereo
