how do you know on my 2002 sunfire that it needs a anti theft module, my key looks chewed up could it be the key

wont start, during last week the anti theft light came on and would prevent
me from starting the car, but at that time I had a bad battery, so i would
have to get a jump everytime i needed to start it, i bought a new battery
last night and today used the car, came home turned it off and it will not
start at all. please help. called the dealership, of course, they say it is
probally the anti theft module? could it be i need a new key???

Maybe you need a new ignition switch and if your key is messed up it might be the key too
