Will a 3800 engine from a 1998 Bonneville fit in a 2001 Bonneville with the same but blown engine?

I blew the engine in my 2001 Bonneville and found one from 1998 Bonneville and just want
to know if it will fit and what problems might be encountered?

Yes it will drop right in as long as they are both Series II engines. You will have to swap some parts from the 2001 engine to the 1998. Things like wiring harnesses, mounting brackets, motor mounts ect.
