Key and Wheel Locked

Asked by GuruV4VSM Jul 30, 2018 at 09:34 AM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to replace the alternator (my cousin did for
me) and now that it’s replaced, the key and the
steering wheel are locked.

Should have nothing to do with each other. Try putting pressure on the wheel (either direction) and turning the key when doing it. This typically will work if they were locked hard when the car was last run. It relieves the mechanical pressure on the front wheels.
