Question type: Car Customization

Hey guys,  i was wondering if anybody knows any performance ideas for the V6 firebird.   I know it would be alot better, but buying a trans am is out of the question.  As of now i have aftermarket exhaust and a ram air hood.  I was wondering if anybody ever messed with the series 3 engine?  any thoughts or ideas would help.   thanks

yeah really your best bet would be a engine transplant you will never get your moneys worth from the v-6 just get a 5.0 or a 5.7 just find a totaled car and get the engine but in the case that is not possible I suggest you think getting air and gas in and out as fast as you can. With such a small block that is your only chance you will never be able to create much torque so you have to go for speed. try some bolt on parts such as headers or maybe a pair of aluminum heads. if you got the money you might want to think about a charger of some sort most likely a turbo over a supercharger. if your good with engine or know someone who is get a different crank and if you want the most out of it strait pipe it from the headers removing the catalytic converts and tie to your new exhaust system I think your best bet all around though is looking for a programed chip to replace in the ECU little hassle notable results again if you have connections you can get a programmable one and have some one properly adjust it on a dyno. any other questions just shot me a message -Brandon
