Have you changed plug,s and wire,s,they may be bad,if this doe,s not fix the problem, you may need to have a compression check,to rule out bad or scorched valve,s.
I change spark plugs and the rubber boots
Has not been to hot many two or three lines over normal was thinking o2 sensor
Is it the 2.4 liter 4cyl? If it is it could be a head gasket. VERY common on that engine.
Yeah it is the 2.4 it putters in the morning put in nurtal for a min then it stops when idling for a few also it only starts acting up when u get past the 3rd gear mark drops down to under the 1500 rpm range then try to shot right back up but has a hard time have to put it 3rd instead of over drive to go up any incline and the service engine soon comes on its the one on the left were the rpms are
Also has 110000 on it haha just trying to make her last longer
Yea I would say either plugged cat. converter or head gasket. Have it looked at by a REPUTABLE mechanic.
OK thank u I'll let u now what I fine out maby u could help me some more last ? For now if it was a bad o2 sensor would it smell like rotten eggs kw for my own sake and it smells like gas ever once in wile when fans on 3 or 4
What about the gas smell when u turn fan vents on high and car is in idle
Not positive on the gas smell. Head gasket is not cheap ($800-1200)and that's if the head isn't cracked. I'm a die hard GM guy but the 2.4 or it's predecessor the Quad 4 were just not good engines.
Chris, have the engine, coolant system pressure checked,if this doe,s not show anything, have the engine compression checked, this will reveal the problem.
So I found out were my power loss was coming from its was my coil pack housing cover that u for the the ideas
