My aunt's Pontiac grand am is overheating. We
changed the plug to the fan and checked all the
fuses, we added coolant and it keeps cool and
under 200 for a little while and then looked
afterwards and the coolant isn't there.

Is there white smoke coming out of the exhaust? Is the engine oil kinda milky? Any leaks?

Add the coolant while it is running when it disappears, add until about 1/2" from top, keep the cap off and let it circulate. The coolant is not there because the thermostat opened up and the coolant is circulating pushing air pockets out. keep fulling until full once it has circulated.
