Oil

Asked by Cmab Apr 03, 2016 at 11:28 AM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am three months
ago. I have since had to put oil in it three times, but
never seen a leak any where. I just got an oil
change yesterday, I have reset my computer both
by the red button in fuse panel and by the battery.
But the service engine light keeps coming on and
off, not the oil light or the check. Also it since has
been running very rough, it sounds terrible both in
the engine and the exhaust, it sounds as if it's
going to stall and backfire but has not. What's
going on please?

So my engine is in its way out then? Great and yes I bought it from a used car dealer. When I first got it the car would shut off while I was driving, and my blinkers work when they want to so I reset the computer but the blinkers still barely work and the keyless entry sound comes on all the time even though I wasn't given the remote. Basically it's not worth fixing right?
