Wiring Harness replacement

Asked by stacy Jul 02, 2018 at 01:05 AM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so I have the same problem, sort of. My ex had replaced the entire wiring
harness, before he went to jail, because I had went to use the car cigarette
lighter and it burnt up the wiring instead of triggering the fuse. Anyhow, he
had gotten it all replaced and it wouldn't even turn over when trying to start it.
Come to find out it was the wrong wiring harness. Is there a Grand am wiring
harness replacement for dummies? I just cant keep it where its been any
longer and need a car asap and have no one to help me. Idk. I just need my
car I'm a mom with 3 kids and this doesn't help with no car!

It really depends if he replaced the ECM. If so, it has to match the key because there is a chip in it. If the computer won't acknowledge the key, no go.
