Run down your fuel lines and you will find a filter it sound like it could be clogged or you might not be getting good fuel pressure

Typically when a fuel pump goes bad it just quits putting out enough psi for the vehicle to run. And the vehicle dies right in its tracks. Sounds to me like you might have a coil or ignition module that is heating up. When this happens a vehicle will die but as soon as the effected part cools back down the vehicle will start right back up.

Is your check engine light on? If so have codes read this will give you clues to the issue.
