Overheating 1999 Pontiac Sunfire

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have an overheating problem with my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2200 engine. I have changed the water pump, radiator cap and thermostat. My oil looks good and there is no coolant burn off smell when the car is running. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue.

Only things I can think of is 1. bleed the air out of the system if there is a coolant bleeder. 2. coolant system flush 3. that cooling system additive that makes it work better - Water Wetter is the name. Good luck
When does it over heat? When it's sitting still or while its driving or both.
Take off the coolant cap smell inside, does it have an exhaust smell
May be cooling fan, if its not turning on, can u run it down the highway and its ok but as soon as u stop at a stop light it will heat up. If that happens ur fan is not operating
And if it runs fine while sitting still and overheats while driving then you ran something over and it broke the front air dam.
how do you check transmission fluid in a 1999 pontiac sunfire
