how do you check transmission fluid in a 1999 pontiac sunfire

It doesn't have one Daniel, the link that I posted shows that checking the fluid on this auto trans is the same way of checking a manual trans, transfercase, and a differential. There is a plug that you remove and then add fluid to a fill hole until it dribbles out, let it finish dribbling out then reinstall the plug. There is no dipstick or fill tube.

Quite a few FWD GMs are that way, most people are lead to believe its not serviceable because of this setup. Its a good setup because it prevents people from constantly checking the fluid which is where a lot of contaminates come from. The only time any fluid should ever be low is if there is a leak. If brake fluid is low and there is no leak then the brakes need checked because the fluid that should be in the resivoir is in the calipers and wheel cylinders. The biggest power steering fluid and brake fluid contaminate is when its opened to be checked.

The bigger cars Bonneville, Gran Prix, and Impala equipped with the 3800 did. The grand am size cars and smaller is where they removed them
