Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car will start 6 or seven times then will not start any more without a boost. yet I can turn on lights, radio ect. I was wondering if I could just put new brushes in the alternator or will it need replacing?

Hey Bubbles! You are starting with the more complicated solution first. If you haven't already you need to verify the integrity of the battery. The problem may be there. After you do that, you can start looking at other possible causes, and perhaps the alternator is next on your list, but you need to consider drains on the battery, perhaps even other components in the electrical system. Good luck!
