car just stops running. When you wait awhile it will restart. WHY is it the heat sensor

You drive for 20 miles and then it stops running. Won't restart. Heat gauge has been broken for a while, but the car has not over heated when it stops running. After the car sets for 20/30 minutes it will start and run find.  The local auto place said they could not but it on there test equipment because of the age of the car.  When it stops running the check engine gauges light is on. When it sets and you restart it there is no check engine light on.

Just a stab in the dark and not sure if your car has one but my Dad's truck did the same thing it was the crank shaft sensor--his truck would drive 20-30 min and then die when it got hot; after cooling down it would start again--see if your vehicle has a crank shaft sensor and consider trying it; if it does not it could be an ignition issue

I check out and see if it has a crank shaff sensor. The tow truck dirver sad it was a heat sensor. Will check it out and let you know

It could also be your ignition coils- under them is the ignition control module , between them is supposed to be a thin film of that helps resist the heat .Replacing that could solve you issue.
