Key stuck in ignition and won’t start.

Asked by Jo1133 Oct 08, 2019 at 09:26 AM about the 2006 Saturn ION

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn my key nothing happens at all- no
lights or sounds or anything. Horn won’t
works, door locks won’t work, but I can roll
my window down. My key is now stuck in the
ignition (in the on position) and I have tried
everything to get it out. I got a brand new
battery 2 weeks ago and I double checked
and nothing was left on to kill it.

Bad ignition cylinder. You will have to remove and replace. Most key places (or dealer) will re- key the ignition. Probably just bad internals.

Forget everything you have been told. There is a small micro switch on the driver's side of the shifter. This switch releases key and unlocks doors when tranmission is put in park. Replace this micro switch problem solved watch this video but don't try to repair just replace switch https://youtu.be/A3F8I9xv 3nM Ebay listing for micro switch https://www.ebay.com/itm /302741497377
