how do you remove and replace the alternator

seems either the tensenor pulley is in the way, does the motor mount have to be removed?

I'm having the same problem. I can't figure out how to get around the tensioner. Any advice available?

I've read you can remove the passenger side tire and the plastic snap devices holding the inner fender well and change the alternator. Otherwise, you have to either remove the motor mounts and jack up the engine or take your Saturn to an auto mechanics shop. An authorized dealer will do it for just under $350.00.

Remove motor mount bolt. jack up with a block of wood ,about 2" slips right out thru the top..
