What's the life on a rebuilt Subaru engine

If it is done right it could go 200,000+ miles, just like a new one.
Are you talking about rebuilding the top half of the engine or the entire block??
Wouldn't the "top half" actually be the side halves? The life span of any rebuild depends on the quality of the parts used, the tolerances that are adhered to and the skills of the re-builder. Getting a warranty on the rebuild would be wise. Also consider that the rest of the vehicle is 13 years old and other parts may soon fail such as transmission and a/c components. Rust in the suspension and attachment points is an additional issue to examine.
