Is it worth repairing or not

Only you can really answer that, based on the car's condition. A ballpark for it's blue book values is between 1,900 and 3,000 (based solely on year/make/model & mileage) so repair costs may exceed car's resale value. You may also want to look into a reman engine or used replacement engine.
Repair may cost more than that, when it is taken apart and evaluated other issued may be discovered. If the car is in really nice condition and you like driving it, then it may be worth repairing it.
Jeremy, listen, you can't buy a decent used car for. $2,300 especially when you know the history of the car.... like you do in this case....if it's just $2,300 and that's what it takes...and IF the car is otherwise clean....it would make a great second car... Most people selling a car for around $2,000 are not that good and riddled with problems...at least fixing it.. you'll know what you got and can always sell it for $1,500...any car running will usually get a basic amount of money... What do you have to lose?? And, registration and insurance is always less on an older car...... good luck.
Thanks to everyone for your advice I appreciate it and it was helpful
