2007 subaru engine sealed to 2001 subaru

I installed a 2007 2.5 with varible cam conto
system in my 2001 that did not have one. I need to
know if I can wire this up wit a remote system to
make it work as car has rough idle and stalls at
stops

I bought the engine the car it cam from is gone no ecu is available I have to use original wiring harness that came with the 2001 and am using that there is no hook ups on the wiring harness for the varible valve timing. There must be some way to hook up to throttle control to make this work any suggestions
