first decat exaust prob best to buy full system and keep standard for testing then get ecu reprogramed for new system stay away from induction kits legaceys run better on standard airbox after that you get into big money mods such as uprated turbos big bore kits blueprinting etc

if you wanna get power in that wagon drop the 2.2L they have very low tollerences unless you go all out when building them, it would be cheaper in the long run and more reliable too if you put in a 2.0L WRX or 2.5L STI turbo motor and matching tranny, the power from those is good to begin with and then you can do an exhaust still, also put in bigger injectors, a higher flowing fuel pump, and if you really wanna go big a nos system is a lot of bang for the buck.

I'm actually in the same boat with my 2.2 L. How complex is it to bolt in a 2.0 WRX or 2.5L STI motor and matching tranny? Thanks for letting me piggy back on the original post.

Don't waste your money on a rex or STI motor and tranny, not worth it. Rather buy a good turbo Forester. Throw a VF35 or VF43 STI turbo and STI cooler in the mix, and you've got a family size car that would make most performance cars blush.

it's not too hard if you have the proper rescources but you would need the Motor and the computer to match that motor and a tranny as well as the wiring harness for the new engine, it would require removing the old wiring harness and routing the new one which is honestly the hardest part, all of the rest is mostly a direct drop in deal.

I have a twin turbo bg5 legacy but this thing moves like nothing else, i just put in a wolbro fuel pump, a hks cold air intake, pinks injectors bigger new turbos a vf32 secondary and a vf33 etune turbo primary and the i did some engineering so that both turbos run and open at the same time, this thing now goes like nothing else,am planing to change the primary turbo to a td04turbo,
