i had rotors turned on my 99 subaru, put back together and after the lube
wore off it was metal on metal. terrible noise, vibration, rotors very hot to the
touch

I would go back and double check installation. If everything looks normal, check calipers, they may not be opening up when brakes are released

"After the lube wore off" what does that mean? Sounds like a stuck caliper or improper installation.

Exactly what I was thinking, but "after the lube wore" off really bothers me.

Yeah, but it doesn't really wear off, as in quickly.

That or the grease that goes on the back of the pads to keep the squeaks in check.

I turned my 97 Subaru legacy 2.5gt off. When I tried to restart it everything was dead!!! It was like the battery wasn't hooked up. I took the keys out and walked in the house. I looked outside and the tail light were on and the front amber lights were on. I tried to start it and nothing. I cleaned the battery posts but it didn't help. I unhooked the positive cable and put the key in the ignition and turned it on in order to hook the positive cable up. It started just fine, however the running lights are still on and the dash lights are blinking! I turned the engine off and the running lights were still on and the dash lights were still blinking. I had to unhook the positive cable to stop this process. Can anybody out there point me in the right direction??? 1 Answer

I have a 1997 SUBARU LEGACY. While driving yesterday my car shut off on me. I noticed that I had no fire on my plugs. I tested the coil pack and everything was good. When I try to start my car it just 1 Answer
