Subaru Legacy Outback 1999 2.5, same as year 2002?

1999, 2002,. 2.5 engine the same?

The 2002 would be SOHC. The 99 may be DOHC but it is easy to look and confirm this.

There's a small possibility that a late 1999 OB would have the newer SOHC motor...which would be a good thing, as, under no circumstances should these flawed first DOHC pigs ever be invested further in.
