overheating?

i have a 92 subaru loyale, it overheats on the interstate but not in town, any ideas. I checked my oil for coolant and coolant for oil and exhaust, so i don't think head gasket. I removed the thermostat monthes ago, coolant level is good and system is holding pressure.
