Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 Toyota Corolla has two issues. One my cars brakes have been giving me problems. I've replaced everything except the axle. the car will drive fine for a few miles then it will heats up the brakes and the car will not move. #2 My car some times dies with out warning I was in the middle of a  intersection then my engien died. I almost got hit by a old lady in a big ass Nissan.

question one sounds like either warped rotors or a bad wheel cylinder. not so sure about question two, i've never had that problem with my 'rolla and it could be a number of things
