Should I buy?

I am in desperate need of a car. A family in my church is selling their 2001 Avalon. The car has 172,000 miles on it.  The price they are asking is well within the KBB value and I know they have taken good care of it...my question is I need a car that will last a few more years.  Are Avalon's known to last when the usual maintenance (oil changes) done properly? Are their known problems that start to happen after a certain amount of miles?

I have a 96 Avalon with 215,000 miles on it and it still runs smoothly. It's a great car.
