can a 1991 ecm be compatible with a 1992 Toyota celica

it actually depends on the engine just because it's a 91 over to a 92 doesn't mean that it will work they made several different engines in those years and they are completley different from one another

Check number on both units ,ake sure same with numberyy

they are not the same on 1991 celica 2.2 the harness is bigger than the 1992 Celica 2.2
