timing chain

Asked by Kevin Oct 05, 2015 at 09:00 PM about the 1992 Toyota Pickup

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 1992 toyota 4x4 pickup it has 155 ooo miles and is in reall y
great shape. The sellar stated that the guy he bought it from stated that the
timing chain was replaced, but there are no records of it. I intend on driving
a lot 3-4 hr trips. I think i shouldnt gamble, and have it checked/ replaced . I
am prepared for cost to make the truck good for another 100000 miles.
Any other services you recommend so i can enjoy it for another 15yrs.
Thanks Kevin

If the chain was replaced at a dealer, you will be able to see when and where at that site. You need the VIN. And is it a V6 or 4cyl?

The engine is a 22RE and i have a carfax on it and it does not show on the dealership entries.
