If the battery is too weak to start the truck it could be the battery, alternator or both. Check the battery connections, clean and tighten them if they need it.
What's the age/health of battery? Voltage with car off? 12.4 or higher? Load test with voltmeter connected and try to start. Does voltage drop below 10V? If so bad battery.
The battery i would say is about maybe a sear old . i know it cant be the battery so do u think it could be the alternator . i will definetly check the connection on the battery but i really dont think thats the problem because when im driving the truck wouldnt it die out if driven far? I definetly appreciate the advise n thank u folks for responding but besides the battery is there anyway i would b able to check to see if the alternator is the problem n how ?
With the truck running check the voltage across the battery terminals. It should be 13.5 to 14.5 volts.
Thanks for the ur reponses i found out what the problem was finally it was the starter because its a low truck it bounces alot so because of that the starter bolts loosebed up and so i caught it just in time the starter was just about to fall bought some new bolts replaced the one that came off and walla it started up ..... Thanks friends for ur response greatly appreciated ....
