in what order should i start with when adding horsepower to my '87 irocZ,350,tpi,5.7l.and what parts do i need to add to it.but keeping it street legal. i want to be able to hang with,or outrun the mustang.but at a price that won't hurt the pocket.

I would say a K&N air filter with cold-air intake, perhaps headers, and a larger exhaust. You could hollow out the catalytic convertor (but I didn't tell you that) and leave it in place to get a better flowing exhaust. That's how I would start. You can go way nuts trying to add HP, those are some possible fixes that will immediately boost you 5-10 HP each.
