battery died - after jumping the car (1997 audi quattro A6) the sun roof opened and it will not close again - neither by dial nor by locking doors... Anyone have any clue?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

All other windows work. We have tried everything in the manual. When we use the switch
in the car there is a whirring sound but no movement at all.

There's a manual crank clipped into the trim piece that covers the sunroof motor. Try to close it with that. Whirring makes me think that the motor is loose and it's gear isn't touching the frame at its cable.

Thank you so much! Awesome. we managed to close the window. Unfortunately there is probably a short circuit 'cause the battery was deader than dead - so we had to take it to the garage anyway... Even so - your answer was super helpful. Thanks again!
