audi a4 b5 not starting

Just because you have fuel pressure does not mean you have the correct pressure for the vehicle to run. Have a fuel pressure test done to make sure it is pumping at the correct pressure.

hey had the pressure checked and mechanic said there is little or no pressure on his gauge.. will try nw fuel pump and hopefully this is the problem will let you know chees

hey back again. so i got a new fuel pump and still no go, also replaced filter, found a slightly damaged o ring in the top of one of the injectors. would that be enough to drop the pressure and tell the sensors there is not enough pressure and there for not start the engine ?

No not really would make it run rough like it is missing. Did you also replace the fuel pressure regulator ?

yup i have another a4 the same that is going and swapped the regulator and no change the other one still goes fine.

Is check engine light on ?

no its not.

Sounds like the fuel injectors are not working check for blown fuse for injectors.

Checked all fuses when first had problem, just checked again and all are good. have measured up to 12V at injector plug when cranking and have measure resistance of injector and all ok.

If you are getting power to the injectors ( I see you checked with a a meter but I would check with a noid light this is a light you plug into injector connector and it lights up showing there is power going to injector when vehicle is cranking. If power going to injectors it has to be bad injectors now all of them going bad at the same time is very rare.

hey i have had the injectors checked and all is ok with them, but now i have no spark at the plugs !!!!. have decided to trash it for spares for my other one and get something else as it is not worth spending too much more money on it to find out what is wrong. thanks for your help and time anyway . still wish i knew what it was it is frustrating not knowing.

timing pickup? I had a start issue with mine at it was related to engine water temp sensor, did start though after 3 cranks, but refused on very cold days, simple fix

HI JUST HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH 1997 AUDI A4B5 WOULD NOT RUN,CHECKED FUEL AT RAIL NO FUEL SO HAD A BAD PUMP,SO CHANGED THAT THEN MAJOR FUEL LEAK FROM INLINE FILTER UNDER REAR DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER DOOR,REPLACED WITH NEW ONE,NEXT CAR STILL NO START SO CHECK INJECTORS HAD POWER ,ALL GOOD SO CHANGED WHOLE FUEL RAIL WITH KNOWN GOOD ONE,CAR STARTS AND RUNS LIKE A DREAM JUST NEED TO TELL CUSTOMER HE HAS BIG BILL,I THINK HE MUST HAVE PUT SOME REALLY CRAP STUFF IN HIS FUEL SYSTEM,

PS car was 1.8 ADR engine non turbo

Does anyone know why my car wont start when I plug in the connector to the throttle body but when I take it off it will start runs a bit ruff n I have to hold the gas pedal to cheers
