In the top right hand corner of the trim tag position 2 in the Chevrolet by the numbers book are the numbers 11. I was told that it was an internal code? What does it stand for? Hi, I just recently purchased my 68 Chevelle SS and I'm trying decode the trim tag. Could you please help me or direct me to someone that could? The engine and 4-spd. Trans. was out of the car when I purchased it. Is there any way to tell which 396 came in the car originally? In the top right hand corner of the trim tag position 2 in the Chevrolet by the numbers book are the numbers 11. I was told that it was an internal code? What does it stand for? Here is some information on decoding your Chevelle: For engine codes: http://www.chevelles.com/years/68/68codes.html Also, here is the information on decoding for the 1967 model: http://www.chevelles.com/years/67/facts.htm According to that, the 11 indicates a 2dr sedan.
