All original 1968 327
I have a 1968 RS 327 Camaro.
It is all original--down to the tires and wiper blades. All matching serial numbers.
Automatic, hard-top, custom-ordered black vinyl interior. It has had no body work, but it
was stripped and re-painted candy-apple red about 35 years ago. It has been in my
garage, not driven for probably 15 years, and runs perfectly.
Less than 60, 000 original miles.
My question is what would people estimate this car might be worth?
I cannot find any even remotely-comparable 68 Camaro.
Naturally, probably 99% of all '68 Camaros for sale are restored.
This is obviously a completely different animal.
The only 'original' 1968 Camaros I realistically find are literally completely rusted-out
bodies sitting in a field with no engine, transmission, interior, or anything else.
People ask ten to fifteen thousand for those.
I was once offered a 'great deal' of money for this car, and turned it down without
consideration, as based on my research, it may almost be a one-of-a-kind-with none
other like it remaining.
I would imagine that a car like this, based on its rarity, is worth whatever someone is
willing to pay for it..but does anyone know of any recent sales which might be
comparable? Any ideas?
Thanks.
(sorry about the crappy pic)
