where there different camshaft options for the Z28 in 1969

Typically options have always been restricted to whole engines when ordering a new car. There have always been aftermarket camshafts available but there were no specific dealer-code camshaft options available from the factory at that time.

Depending on the engine ordered there was a hydraulic cam or one with solid lifters. To order a new car and special order a camshaft was not an option unless the entire engine was ordered offering the cam.
