Due to changing emissions standards nationwide, and even more strict in Calf. Horsepower in the Z28 dropped alot very quickly. So by 1979 the the 5.0 lit. 305ci. with a 2bbl Roch Carb. 130Hp @ 3200 Rpm's 245ftlb of torque @ 2000Rpm's The 5.7lit. 350 ci. 4bbl. Roch. Carb. rated 170Hp. @ 3800Rpm's and 270lbft. of torque @ 2400 Rpm's. These numbers are way down from even just 5 years eariler. There are a couple of different sources of inforamtion that you can find these numbers at the first is at this link http://www.f-body.org/tech/tech.htm#1979 just scroll down to the spot for the 1979 Camaro. The second is at this link http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Chevrolet_Camaro It take a little looking around and alot of reading to get the numbers on that page, but it is still a good source of information. That was also the best EVER selling year for the F-Body Camaro. And to me i'ts still one of the best looking Z28's out there. I hope this helps. Plesase let me know if I can be anymore help. Or if by some chance you happen to find a better source of information. :) Terry
