forget about this car, even for free its gonna cost you more than it will be worth. i know about labor of loves, your time is got to have some value to it and it wouldn't surprise me if it took over two years to get this car into #2 condition, and thats alot of weekends, evenings, days off not to mention all the orginization, space needed to do something like this. i recently saw a '78 or '79 Z/28 for sale at a car dealer back east. it was saddle(tan), colored, great interior,350 motor, think it had the th350 trans., really clean, original, easily #2 from the photos i saw. i think he wanted $7,500.00 or something like that. i know alot of people might say "you paid how much or what???". sit down and figure out approximately what you might believe it will take to revive a car like that $1,100.00 one.bodywork, paint, weatherstripping, clips, retainers...man there is alot of small parts that go into a car, and bigger ones too. the interior could easily cost you $2,500 to "fix" its better to start with one in far better condtion and be driving/enjoying it from the get-go. who knows maybe you could talk the dealer or whoever down $500.00
