66 Mustang 200 CI Problems

My 66 Mustang 200 CI straight 6 has starting problems when hot, hard to start and stalls any ideas, motor is new coil is new

Sounds like a carburetor/fuel delivery issue. Might want to check the timing also on the new motor and check that all vacuum lines, etc., are properly connected.

The 144, 170 and 200 ci engines had many interchangeable parts. My overheating problem was solved by replacing the smaller, low volume oil pump used on the 144 and 170 engines, with the correct high volume oil pump AND distributor required by the 1966 200 ci engine.

The overheating problem is the key. Your engine may be experiencing a false vapor lock causing it to be hard to restart.
