I Got A Audi A4 1996 ..... the speedometer is acting up .... sometimes the rpm and speed dials work and sometimes they dont..... the rest of the dials work perfectly like the heat and the gas dial....

when i switch off my engine the rpm dial vibrates and you can hear it..... fucking annoying that i cant see how fast im going what
could be the problem.... the dials sometimes work and sometimes dont but only the RPM AND SPEED dials

I would be looking at a cluster,BBA remanufacturing has these check out the website,for more info.To be absolutely certain use a scan tool to gain acess to the instrument cluster scan it for codes and you may be able to do a gauge sweep. Get into the trans control module and do an output test for the speedo drive.not 100%certain on the Audis but on some of the VW,s there were some issues with the plastic gear that drives the speedometer pickup.
