I took my car for a service last week and when the mechanic went to have the oil he saw that it was very thick, what could be the reason for this?

Yes I change it every time it needs to be changed, but I went over 1000km and then took my car for a service.

So in other words it's normal? My mechanic told me that the car may have a problem or it may be that when I was taking to get my oil change that the person changing my oil was not changing it properly, could this be the case?
