The starter solenoid is usually mounted piggy back on the starter. Now if you are looking for the starter relay, it will be on the heavy red cable going from the positive terminal of the battery, down to the starter solenoid. If you are thinking to jump the starter with a screw driver, it may crank and run for only a few seconds because the ignition switch has to recognize the correct key to kept theft feature from shutting things down. So if your ignition switch is messed up, it won't run long.
