fueleconomy.gov for the mileage, you didn't give us any further information and there are several powertrain options. And I'm not finding any recalls for the 07 model year, but you can enter the VIN of the vehicle you're looking at on Ford.com and they will tell all recalls for that particular vehicle.

As far as MPG goes, I have a 2006 Escape with a 3.0 V6. My highway mileage typically averages right around 23.5 to 24 MPG. City mileage I haven't measured lately, seeing as I only drive on the highway to work, but I'd put it at 17-18 for my V6. A 4 cylinder will pull 25 to 27 on the highway and around 20 in the city. I have not heard of any Escape recalls from my father who worked with Ford for ten years.

that is around what my wife is getting in her 04 model, with the 3.0. Our city mileage is closer to 20, though.

In my '01 V6, in the summer I usually do 24 hwy/18 city. In the winter, it drops down to 20 hwy/16 city. Other than the first model year (2001) there have been very few recalls. The 2001's have had some 10 recalls.

a tornado fuel saver will increase those numbers, its given me 43 mpg on the highway in my 99 taurus

18/23 I believe and go to the owner web-site for Ford to find out if any recalls, but I do think that their is NO recalls.
